Second MMI digital content creation master class concludes successfully

The second round of the “Master Class on Digital Content Creation” training programme for government media teams has concluded.

The three-day programme was jointly conducted by the President’s Office and the Public Service Media’s Maldives Media Institute (MMI). The objective was to strengthen strategic communication of government offices by improving the technical skills and capacity of staff working in media units.

28 participants from various government agencies completed the training, including the Ministry of Homeland Security, Labour and Technology, the Ministry of Climate Change, Environment and Energy, the Road Development Corporation (RDC ), Maldives Immigration, Fuel Supplies Maldives, and the National Drug Agency. Maldives Police Service, Male’ Water and Sewerage Company, Maldives Correctional Service, and National Career Service also took part in the training.

The practical training covered developing communication plans, identifying target audiences and stakeholders, and managing media relations during crises or emergencies. It also focused on using AI tools for content creation, speech summaries and press releases as well as planning social media campaigns, mobile photography, framing, information dissemination and video editing techniques.

The programme concluded with practical presentations by participants, followed by a closing ceremony where certificates were awarded. The ceremony was attended by PSM’s Managing Director Ahmed Shakeeb and other senior officials from PSM.

Following the successful completion of two batches, MMI plans to conduct another master class in August.
